IMPLEMENTATION NOTE / 15 OCTOBER 2026

Before the first endpoint agent: a rollout readiness checklist.

An endpoint rollout is a controlled production change. The first useful deliverable is a readiness plan that makes compatibility, ownership and response behavior explicit.

Inventory before installation

List operating systems, versions, device ownership, network segments and existing security agents. Check vendor support and coexistence guidance before selecting rollout groups. Identify servers and business-critical applications that need separate acceptance.

Pilot the policy as well as the agent

A successful installation does not validate prevention settings. Use a representative pilot to check application behavior, exclusions, agent connectivity and update paths. Record exceptions with an owner and review date.

Define rollout and rollback rings

Move from a small pilot to staged business groups with a measurable stop condition. Define who can pause deployment, remove an agent or restore a previous policy. Avoid removing the previous control before replacement coverage is confirmed.

Validate health and response

Check coverage, agent status, policy assignment and telemetry. Use safe, approved test events to validate detection and investigation context. Verify the approval and recovery path before testing host isolation.

Hand over the operating model

Deliver the rollout record, policy baseline, exceptions register, validation evidence and operational runbooks. Agree which team owns agent health, future exclusions and response authority.

This is a planning guide. Product prerequisites and response behavior must be validated against current official documentation and your environment.
